Bath

Role Description

The Sponsorship & Outreach Team is the engine behind Bath Finance Society’s funding and event lineup. As a Speaker Outreach Lead, you’ll help shape the people members hear from throughout the year, from professionals at major financial institutions and boutique firms to founders, academics, alumni and other industry experts.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in research, cold outreach, professional communication and relationship-building, while developing the confidence to engage with senior and high-profile professionals. This is a real, outcomes-driven role: the speakers you help bring to BFS will directly shape the quality and variety of our events.
Speaker Outreach Lead

As a Speaker Outreach Lead, you will be responsible for identifying and securing high-quality speakers for BFS events. You’ll be involved in:

Responsibilities

  • Researching and identifying potential speakers relevant to BFS events and member interests
  • Finding appropriate contact details and building targeted outreach lists
  • Writing personalised and compelling speaker invitations
  • Reaching out to industry professionals, alumni, founders and academics
  • Following up consistently and managing ongoing conversations with potential speakers
  • Coordinating with confirmed speakers on availability, event format and logistics
  • Maintaining accurate records of outreach and speaker progress
  • Working with the wider committee to ensure speakers are well briefed and supported

Who We're Looking For

A great role for someone curious, proactive and confident communicating with people they may not have interacted with before. Strong research skills and attention to detail are important, as is the confidence to reach out to senior or high-profile professionals. No previous outreach or committee experience is required: what matters most is initiative, professionalism and persistence.
Must be a full-time Bath student in the 2026/2027 academic year.
